R.K. Lakshman gets CNN-IBN Lifetime Achievement Award from ex president Abdul kalam. Delhi metro’s E.Sreedharan is the cnn-ibn’s INDIAN OF THE YEAR. he is also honoured by the government with a padma vibusan. he is Time magazine’s one of the asian heroes. he has got the french chevalier award. his list never seem to end and deservingly so. Vishwanathan anand is the CNN-IBN’s sportsman of the year. And P.Chidambaram is the CNN-IBN’s politician of the year.
All the above did not get these awards because they are tamilians and everyone knows they are more Indian than anyone else. But is it not amazing that Both NDTV and CNN-IBN honours four Tamilians each for the year 2007. Chennai can be proud.

The Australians are crying foul while it should have been the Indians doing so. Timesnow is fighting a lone battle for the Indians. In yesterday’s 9 pm news, eminent lawyer harish salve rightly said why fine? And what is there to celebrate. The Australians have a bad reputation and if words like bastard can be pardoned why not ‘teri maaki’. The BCCI defense is harbhajan accepted using this obscene word and hence cannot escape fine. What about symonds who instigated him. India should not have let off hogg and should have taken the case of a possible match fixing in Sydney using the umpires. All the umpires were competing with each other to make a wrong decision and it is a world record of 10:2 in favor of Australians. All this in a crucial test which if Australia did not win would have resulted in 15 match failure. And even the third umpire made a mistake. If only India and its media had sustained focus on this the monkey would have faded away. But the clever Australians used this monkey to take away the reason for their victory. Bucknor was rested and it was said he had a bad day. WHAT A BAD DAY? And there is talk that he is applying for extension. Crazy times.

And ‘The Australian’ interpreted it as ‘News that his son had made a derogatory remark about his opponent’s mother’s vagina was a relief to harbhajan’s mother’ And in their editorial today titled’ making a monkey of fair sportsmanship’ they say this o harbhajan- ‘ As for the smug Harbhajan Singh, the word “monkey” can also be applied in a derogatory, but strictly non-racist way, to silly troublemakers.’ They also claim that it is only Australia’s on-field superiority preventing the sport from being dominated in every way by the subcontinent, which already wields its financial and administrative clout to the point of bullying. For years the subcontinent has been claiming bias against them by the ICC and its elite umpires. ‘The Australian also says ‘Over the past decade, it has had 43 players found guilty at disciplinary hearings, compared with 25 Australians’ and that the Indians will claim is because of bias. This is a never ending blame game and if cause and effect is applied then the error is on both sides and hence this monkey should be buried and the game should be played in the right sprit. And if the Australians through their media continue to portray the monkey in them we should focus on the match fixing and their mental disintegration tactic.

Harbhajan will loose 50% of his Sydney match fees to[for] the word ‘Monkey’ which he says he did not say but Symonds and his white friends say he did. This is supposed to be the compromise formula. Symonds who as per harbhajan invited the celebrity ‘monkey’ will have his plate full. Ofcourse he will not gain anything from the ‘monkey’ but will loose nothing. BCCI and the Indian televisions are celebrating. Hope someone will care to ask harbhajan how he feels. Moral of the story- Australians will instigate you and if you retaliate you will be poorer.
The clever Australians fixed a match with the help of the umpires and diverted this main issue by the help of a monkey. The world and Indians are no more bothered about proctor and his elite panel who in and out of field made India kneel. I for one still feel that Sydney umpiring was pre planned just to make them winners for the 16th time. I will always remenber 133/6.

The second round of Maanada semifinals was over yesterday. Four out of six will be voted by public for the grand finals. The vote is by sms and to 5600655 The first letter of the male and female contestant is to sent in the following format MM space first letter of male first,first letter of female. Example if it is for Raghhav preetha it should be MM RP to be sent to 5600655. The performance of Rajkhant aand bhavna was outstanding in both rounds so the final position is still difficult to guess. The Judges especially Namitha showed indirectly her preferences and her dislike for RP was also seen. Your costume is fine was how she started telling Raghav in first round. And she whistled for George. Well Public votes will decide is what they say. Lets see.

Superb start
KPY-4 in vijay TV. started yesterday at 10.00 pm and what a show. Grand settings colourful UMA and Ramya, Santhanam’s great opening comedy and original artists. Well it couldn’t have been better. All the performers were with original content and jovial. The variety program was also stunning. The format is new and impressive. The prizes for each show being 4500 for the winner and 2000 for the runner. And a 150cc bike for one of the champs selected by the judges. And a final winner in finals getting 5 lakhs plus a chance to host plus a movie chance. Well everything about KPY-4 is grand. AND SETHU IS THERE,unlike EARLY REPORTS. But he was not his usual self yesterday. There was an obvious effort by him and the performers not to imitate cine stars in a derogatory way. But I felt Sethu is good in mimicry and he has never crossed limits. I think he should be allowed to be himself. And the word kushiyaerunga etc in breaks sounded very artificial. Probably they wanted to use Tamil instead of their usual ‘be happy’ etc in breaks. But it did not sync with the program. And a serious Sethu, Uma is not fun to watch. Uma was looking gorgeous but was like a school teacher in words. May be we will see them as they are in coming weeks.
THIS SHOW IS GOING TO ROCK and the other channels have to make changes in their similar programs or close shop.

Life in Mars?

Well this world is getting a bit boring. No major war, Osama is still underground and No power to challenge USA. So suddenly two sensations arrive. One was the crash in world markets anticipating economics recession in USA and hence the world. Though it is more than a mere sensation and infact doom for many brokers and investors, it was also a reminder that the driving force of world economy is in America.

Then Nasa raises a major sensation. A new life? That too in MARS? Photo released by them and cleverly interpreted by life in earth, try to show a naked female like figure sitting on a rock. Is it real? Is it a illusion? Is it formed by erosion of the Martian rocks? All Television channels and Internet are guessing.

Many times I wonder why are we alone? Is evolution of life because of some accident and just combination of chemicals and presence of amino acids and carbon? Or was there a creator? Scientists say water is essential for any life formation- atleast what we know as life so far. And hence they keep searching for water in the universe and so far there is none outside. But I wonder why so may planets and stars exist outside without life and any activity? Why are they formed without a purpose? Our mind has been conditioned to think that everything should have a beginning and it is common sense. So what was that beginning? Nothing? Then from where did the nothing arrive? If GOD created everything how did god arrive? If there was some one who could start life then why not in more than one place?

Is there life outside that is not visible to us?. Like a ghost etal. Scientists say that the simple life form was being evolved more rapid after meteors reached earth. Why does meteors no more evolve better life? And why does these meteors do not raise life outside.

As we understand today the scientific reasoning for evolution is because of a series of volcanic eruptions and other similar activity giving raise to amino acids the basis of all known life. And then applying Darwin we have evolved. Well life cannot be in so simple words but if so why not outside? And may be there is some other kind of life involving some other basic molecules, which we have not seen or heard so far? Are the scientists so sure that the whole universe consist of the chemicals already known to us or is there a different possibility?

The Mars photo reveals that we are all eager to see life outside and that too resembling us. We are convinced that there can be no better form than the humans. But then even if illusion it may be a preparation by the creator to introduce to us sooner or later a life from outside. A couple of weeks ago people in Texas claimed to have seen UFO’s. And many in USA still believe that NASA knows more about outside life than they are revealing. Well whatever it is I guess the time is coming.

Well whether I am right or wrong, only god knows.

Raj TV will telecast live a cricket match organised by them between teams captained by actors simbu and Jayam ravi, on 26.1.2008 from 2 pm onwards. Sons of sv sekhar,pandiarajan,will participate along with nanda,santhanu, amsavardhan and aathi. Actress thejashree,priyanka and Bharathi will also be there.

Sun TV and Kalaignar TV both are showing recorded version of AACHI felicitation program, hopefully at different time. Sun TV will have three movies plus aachi program plus interviews with manivannan, bharath and simbu.
Kalaignar TV will have bharat in interview.Simbu in a city bus with college girls will feature in the morning.
Jaya TV will be republic day specific and will air a program called veeramum eeramum where bthe village kummuvan pettai will be highlighted. Director saravana subbaih will host this program. This village has more than 3000 in the Indian army. This is scheduled at 7.30 am.
Interviews with vedika,kaalai actress and felicitation of Bhaarathiraja in abudhabi are other programs.
Ktv will start with maman magal-satyaraj hit[7.00], followed by super flops sullan and baba[dhanush and his father in law repectively],follwed by shree[surya] and hit giri[arjun].
Makkal TV will also be republic day specific. The day begins with ‘Special Naalkaatti,’ at 6.30 a.m. which explains the historic importance of Republic day. Poems on freedom fighters will be aired at 8.30 a.m. in ‘Kavidhai Aaru.’ A thought-provoking debate, ‘Maanavar Arangam,’ 12 Noon, will feature college students discussing the reasons for their aversion towards politics. Special ‘Sol Vilayaattu’ at 14.00, an interview with Comrade Tha. Pandiyan at 18.03, a historic documentary on the demolition of aristocracy, ‘Mudiyaatchiyin Veezhchi,’ at 19.00, ‘Periyorgale Thaimaargale’ at 19.30 is with Vidaathu Karuppan of Ettukku Ettu fame who enthrals viewers by answering questions with wit and sarcasm, aimed at politicians in real life.

As a true follower, he chose to launch his new music channel a day after his party chief’s TV launched Isai Aruvi. Raj Musix is live now. It was launched today. In the next six months Raj Tv plans to launch five more music channels one each in Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam Hindi and English.Raj Musix will be positioned as an upmarket music channel targeted primarily at youth in the SEC A and B segments.The objective behind launching the channel is to exploit the upmarket music potential of the Tamil market. Like MTV and Channel [V] dominate the niche music segment in North India, Raj Network wants to dominate the regional markets. It will involve celebrity chat shows and on demand music from callers. The other regional channels that will be launched in the next six months will also focus on the music of a particular region.
